yamaha riva 180 starting problems

Electrolytes are topped off. { Read the carb stuff from Jack and do it ALL! By sticking my finger into the carburetor intake while at idle (until I can feel the fuel entering carburetor) and applying throttle, I am able to get it to run normally. Just test rode again, hit 65mph, felt close to the top, but I did run out of road. } This tells me the engine is running lean (not getting enough fuel) at higher throttle and thus stalling.
